I was wondering if you could use other saw blades or dado tools from other saws on the shopsmith? An how if you can?

Welcome to the forum! You may need a smaller arbor from Shopsmith to use the blades. You should be able to order those from the company. By the way, don't forget to update you location in your profile. You will receive a lot of assistance on this forum. I know I have.

Yes, Shopsmith makes 5/8" arbors in both the MKV 500 (555321)and 510/520 (555608) versions for saw blades with a 5/8" arbor hole.

For the dado you use the Dado/Molder Arbor (555506). You would also need the Dado Table Insert, ((505621) for the MKV 500, or the (555120) insert for the 510/520. For the Shopsmith, or any saw 2 HP or less, the 6" dado is preferred.

And don't forget that the saw blades should not exceed 10-inches.

Or 9" if using a certain older model with an 'extra' blade slot.
