390K Low Profile Porter Cable Orbital Sander

Post by calver »

My old DeWalt after 18 years was dry rotted in the pad and making some grinding noises so I had some sanding to do and tried out a 390K. It had very little vibration and with its vs and low profile ,I was sold. I just picked it up last week end and I am planning to use it for some restoration projects.

Anyone know or have this Orbital sander

Thanks,

Dave C.

I got one for Christmas from my kids. I have not used it a lot yet, but so far it seems to work well. I had a P-C regular one and it spun the mounting holes open. I think I tried to push too hard. When I read about the new model it said it was more forgiving .

If your old DeWalt was an orbital, you can buy replacement pads on eBay, and at Lowes. I just purchased 1 for a 15 year old DeWalt orbital.
