Shopsmith came with some items I can't identify...

Post by nduanetesh »

I just bought an NOS 50th Anniversary Edition Mark V, 510. It didn't come with a manual, and it includes a couple of items I can't identify. The machine did include a belt sander, a jointer, and a bandsaw (I don't know if that will help with identifying these parts). It's also possible these aren't even Shopsmith parts. Can any help identify these? Thanks

That is a VERY rusty UTR (Universal lathe Tool Rest) from Shopsmith and I highly recommend it for woodturning on the Mark V. See link below. It keeps getting more expensive. I just checked Shopsmith and it is now $319 new. I think I paid $250 for mine a couple of years ago. Clean it up and put it to work!

Great! Thanks for the info. I'm absolutely going to clean it up and put it to work.
