What size is hex head attaching 510 table to trunnions?

Post by imgodot »

What size is hex head attaching the SS 510 table to the trunnions?

The part# for the screws is: 426370

However, the SS site does not list any specs and I need to buy a hex wrench to fit it.
(Doing a table alignment.)

What size do I need?

Thanks.

Aren't those hex head bolts? You might as well buy a whole set of wrenches. You should get a Swiss Army Hex Key wrench also for the caps screws and set screws: https://www.acehardware.com/departments ... lsrc=aw.ds

There are plenty of other choices out there. Buying wrenches individually is costly, the sets are a much better deal since you'll probably need other sizes eventually.

The thing is, I have lots of hex wrenches and used all of them at one time and another.
But, none of my wrenches are that big.

I can probably measure the hex opening and that will tell me.

You'll appreciate the reach. The alignment is a real bear using short wrenches. (Ask me how I know)

Sorry, just remembered which ones you're talking about. Those are big suckers. I don't think there's one on my multi-tool. Later on I'll go downstairs and find a wrench that fits and let you know.

Looks like someone beat me to it. Yes, it's a 5/16".

8 mm if you need a tighter fit. Big un on that craftsman set above.

Yes longer is gooder.
