This topic is to separate forum login issues from the discussion of the new Shopsmith website. The former thread is here

^^^ That was on my phone. On my Macbook, I got logged out in Firefox and can't log back in. The error is "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." I cleared cookies for shopsmith.com but it made no difference. On the Macbook in Safari, I'm able to log in using the same credentials (which is how I'm posting this)

I have the same problem. I was using Firefox this morning and after I reported having issues with the main website on a different tab signing me out of the forum in a different tab…admin responded and changed something on the forum to fix it. Ever since then I can NOT login on the forum anymore using Firefox. My credentials don’t work. However I can use the Safari browser and still log into the forum from a different device so my credentials and forum account are still valid. I am glad this thread was posted so I know it is not just me with this issue. Did something that admin did this morning break something else so that we can’t login now from whatever browser we were on to begin with???

Came back to the forum just now to see if there were any replies and discovered I'd been logged out in Safari on the Macbook. Isn't happening on my iPhone. I'm able to log back in with Safari but still not Firefox. I am able to login in Brave.

VonZipper posted in another thread that he's seeing the problem too.

Yeah I have to post from my iPhone which is painful. I still have login issues from my PC running Firefox.

Admin,

Please investigate these login issues. Some of us can’t login to the forum anymore from Firefox but Safari works??? I know my login credentials are good and my account is active because I can post this from a Safari browser.

Try Brave or the DuckDuckGo browser. If my experience on my Mac is any guide it should work, and it might be an interesting data point for admin in troubleshooting

So far I have not been logged out again in Safari on the Mac.

Both Chrome and Firefox are broken for me. I can’t login on either of them to the forum. I even tried to click register and it does NOT work. Clicking on “I agree to these terms” on the Register page does nothing. To be clear I can still login using Safari on iPhone so I still have an active account and my login credentials work. Why can I login on Safari but Chrome and Firefox are broken? Even trying to Register for new users seems broken. There must be more people having this problem on the forum because I see very few registered users signed in on the forum right now. I would expect more people signed in on the forum than what I see. I can try more browsers but the two main browsers on the internet, Chrome and Firefox don’t work right now with the forum. Thanks.

That's very odd. If Chrome doesn't work for you then likely Brave won't either, being based on the Chrome code base. (No idea what's under the hood in DDG). But Brave works for me which is the odd part.

Agreed but from what I can see, people can’t even register. First thing I tried yesterday was to create a new account just to see if I could get in to send a note to admin. I couldn’t and still can’t on Chrome or Firefox. Not that I need a new account but I was just trying to figure out how to get back in and search the forum for login issues to see what to do to solve the issue. Then I saw your message yesterday and responded. What is not clear to me is whether a few of us have this issue or if it is everyone. I assume the latter because posts on the forum dropped off yesterday and today and I see very few actually signed in on the forum statistics. Do we know how many have this issue of not being able to login to the forum???

I'm not having any current issues, I'm using Chrome. I had the issue earlier of being logged out of Forum when I navigated to the main site on another page but that was resolved by Admin.

I have updated the cookie name to prevent issues with older cookies.

Let me know what issues anyone sees (exact error message or screenshot if you can).

I just tested with Firefox and was also able to both log in and to register an additional user. Also verified that I could log out and back in with Chrome.
