Good afternoon everyone. I bought my first Shopsmith yesterday and didn't have to travel far to get it. It's 510 Nov. 10 1995. I'll post pics later today.

Congratulations! Welcome to the club.

Was going to ask you about the manual but you just answered that question. Most of what you need to know is in there. You can find out the rest here. This forum is thick with expertise and experience, and I try to help to when I can.

Looks like some dirt on the machine but no significant rust. Shouldn't take you long to get set up and making sawdust.

As GetterDone said collecting Shopsmith tools can be habit forming.

He has quickly built a collection of Mark tools. :D

As you can see from the list below I have a lot of Shopsmith Tools too. Besides those I have restored a lot of Model 10E and 10ER Shopsmith's (22 of them) and several Mark 5/V's and SPT's then resold them.

In my collection currently, besides the list below, I have a Crafter's Station I added recently. I have a long list of tools waiting to be restored some of which I will keep. They include a 1957 Mark 5 Greenie, a 1961 Mark 5 Goldie "C" suffix S/N, 2 Model 10E's, a Model 10ER, a Mark 2, 5 Bandsaws of varying ages, 3 Jig Saws (1 is a Model A-34), 2 Belt Sanders, 2 Jointers (1 is a Model 4E), 3 1950's Air Compressors and probably other items that escape my memory right now.

Below is a favorite picture of mine I took after having these 5 Model 10's restored. I still own the one in back which was the first Model 10 I restored.

I wish I had more time and energy to work on them these days.
