Has ShopSmith made or sold a 3/4" Shaper Arbor for the ShopSmith?

Re: Shaper Arbor
Not that I have found.
Below is a picture of all the Shaper Spindles I know of. All are for 1/2" bore Shaper Cutters except for the one on the upper left which is a 5/16" Shaper Spindle from the late 1940's into the 1950's. The Shaper Spindle P/N 555472 has a smaller threaded shaft (if I recall correctly 3/8") and uses the sleeves shown in front of it to make it 1/2" in diameter. It has actual bearings for the rub collars and the smallest outside diameter size rub collar (silver) cannot be found in a size to fit on a 1/2" shaft.

Re: Shaper Arbor
Thanks, I am looking for a way to cut tongue and groove joints, and was trying to use the shaper set up on the Shopsmith. All the tongue and groove shaper cutters have 3/4" bores. I was looking for a work around. I have found 1/2" shank router bits and that may be the route I go.

Re: Shaper Arbor
Corob Cutters offers T&G shaper profiles in 1/2" bore. (https://corobcutters.com/shaper-profiles-1) These are fixed profile, 1/4" tongue/groove, so may not be what you are looking for. I would think there are others out there. Alternatively, you may be able to use sleeves or bushings to adapt a 3/4" bore to the 1/2" arbor if there is a particular cutter set you like.JCC52 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 9:29 pm Thanks, I am looking for a way to cut tongue and groove joints, and was trying to use the shaper set up on the Shopsmith. Re: Shaper Arbor
JCC52,
As David said there are 1/2" bore Shaper Cutters out there. I believe Corob Cutters is the brand Shopsmith was selling before they discontinued selling Shaper Cutters altogether. If you are doing 3/4" thick stock they should work fine for you. If you are doing other sizes of stock, you may have to find other options. You can cut T & G's on the table saw and adjust to the groove thickness you need.
