Hardboard molding head table insert?

I intend to make a molding head table insert from hardboard for my 500 - does anyone see an issue with this? Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything - Thanks - Alec

Hi Alec,
I can knot think of a reason knot to. Pretty much any material will work as long as you can machine it to fit the table and a slot for the molder head.

Thanks Tim - That's what I figured. I have made a zero clearence insert from 1/4" hardboard and it worked just fine, so I figure a molding insert will too - thanks - Alec

Lower that table down on the revolving blade very slowly. I have had hard board break near the screw holes and I have decided it was because I was lower onto the blade too aggressively.
I just made a dozen blanks and cut three of them with no problem.[ATTACH]4637[/ATTACH]

That's alright - thanks for the drawing just the same - I like it and made a copy so that when my dream comes true and I own an anniversary model 520 I'll have it at hand!

Dusty's drawing is good for 505/510/520 tables(in case you should get used table and carriage elsewhere).
BTW DUSTY I DO like your method of dimensioning from a common edge. Makes it easier to layout.
