The bearings in the Ridgid R2900 2.25 HP router I have installed in my router table have started to squeal and I need to replace them. I can handle pulling the old ones but I don't have a bearing press & wondered if anyone has any tips for ways to install the new bearings without a press.

That will pull them. I need to figure out how to press on the new ones.

It will pull them ON as well as OFF. It applies pressure to the inner race hub only.

OK, sounds promising. How would you set it up to pull a bearing onto the end of a shaft or into a hole?

Good news - I don't have to worry about replacing the failed bearings on the Ridgid router in my router table. Before ordering the bearings I called Ridgid's customer support line and was pleasantly surprised to find out that bearing failure is covered under the lifetime warranty I activated 17 years ago by registering my router within 90 days of purchase. Even better, since the repair parts are no longer available, they are sending me a brand new upgraded router. Made my day!
