I inherited a ShopSmith Mark V-B serial#:199533 and I am very excited about it. I remember watching the infomercials as a youngster, and can hardly believe I have one now. I have the manuals and the book and have been going through them and watching videos, but I am still not certain I know what I have. I'd like to know what I have so I know how to upgrade. It is a basic model, but is it a 500, or a 505, or something else?
I'd appreciate any help figuring this out.

Re: What do I have?
To explain more, you have a Mark V 500 with the original Table System made in February 1985. It was in 1985 that the Mark V 510/505 was introduced with a larger expandable Table System and the Mark V with the original Table System became the 500.
Below is the Mark V 510. A Mark V 505 is the same Table System without the Floating Tables, Connector Tubes and Legs.
_ .
In 1999 the Mark V 520 was introduced with the Pro Fence System. It uses the same Tables and other parts, but the Fence and Fence Rails are different. The Mark V 510 above (and 505) have round tube Fence Rails and a narrower Fence than the 520.
_ .
Your Mark V can be upgraded to either a 510/505 or a 520. It takes quite a few parts to upgrade including a different Carriage.
