Has anyone ever had any parts for their Mk5 manufactured? Wondering if getting a local business to machine up a new spindle could be an option.

It would likely be more costly to have a machine shop fabricate one than buying one from Shopsmith. If you have a Mark 5/V with the Poly V Drive, you will only need a new replacement Quill assembly from Shopsmith or buy a used one. If you have an Older, pre-April 1961, Mark 5 with the Gilmer Drive you can get a used one or upgrade to the Poly V Drive which requires replacing the Quill Assembly, Drive Sleeve Assembly, Idler Shaft part and the upper Belt.

Trouble is, parts are like rocking horse poop in the UK. I was unaware of your location so getting parts is more difficult. Even the used market is more difficult to find someone selling the right part and willing to ship outside the US.
