Another Belt Sander question

I recently acquired an older belt sander and it has a bit of an odd problem. After setting the tension and then firing it up it continues to tighten the belt. Has anyone ever had this happen before and if so, what is the fix?
Thanks - Phil

Phil - I had that happen on one a few months back. If I recall correctly, the adjustment bolts were badly misaligned. I was taking the machine apart for a full cleansing and after realigning upon assembly, everything worked fine.

Well, it was nothing more than the adjustment bolts. I think he had adjusted them for non-shopsmith belts. Got them in the proper position and it is working fine now. Thanks for the help.
