Table Saw Blade replacements

Post by tbinggeli »

Can you guys tell me if you can buy any other replacement table saw blade than the Shopsmith brand? I'm looking for a quick replacement and I hear ordering from Shopsmith can take months.

Thanks!

Can it be any size or does it have to be 10" to fit?

10" or less. A smaller blade decreases the maximun depth of cut.

RE 1 1/4" arbor hole. 5/8" arbors are available from ss for use with more common blades with 5/8" arbor holes.

To summarize: Any 10" (or smaller:eek: ) blade with either a 1 1/4" or a 5/8" hole will work. They do knot have to be ShopSmith, but you do need either the 1 1/4" or the 5/8" SS sawblade arbor to fit the appropriate blade.

BTW, where did you hear that? Call to place your order and ask if the blade is available now. Or if the saw arbor is available now.

What is the metric for 1 1/4? I think 5/8 is .675.

Welcome to the forum. You will need this to use with the more common blades with 5/8" arbor holes.

There have been times when the delay receiving parts was unacceptable but generally that has not been my experience.

That said, if you are going to use a standard 10" saw blade, you need one of these.

I don't recommend any other substitute for this.
