I just received my 1985 shopsmith that I won on Ebay, the only problem is the variable speed dial is binding towards the fast and slow speeds. I'm guessing it just needs a cleaning/lubricating job done to it. How do I remove that dial to freshen it up?

I think you might want to view this Sawdust Session.

There are some others here that are well worth viewing too.

I watched the videos at work here (without sound) and it looks like it's exactly what I need to do. Thanks, Dave

The 'sound track' contains much useful information!
