Crosscut Sled

I'm curious what everyone uses for a cross cut sled. Are most of the Mark V users sticking with the Shopsmith sled or are you migrating to something else. If so, what?
I've modified mine a little and plan to stick with it.

Dusty,
Most of my crosscut work is done with the shopsmith sled. I also have have modified mine after taking part in Nicks sawdust sessions. I find it is as versatile and accurate as any other option I have tried. fjimp

Not sure if this is a poll or not but I as well use the Shopsmith sled which I purchased several years ago at at TA sale and use Nick's method from the sawdust session on making it more user friendly.

I don't have a crosscut sled, why would one need one?

Don't need or use a crosscut sled! I have a panel sled, that is about the same thing, but that's for panels, not boards.
The way I look at it - The Shopsmith miter gauge with an extension is very ample for any board that I'll use.

I use the Shopsmith crosscut sled with a homemade runner (no slop) for panels up to 15" and a homemade double runner large sled (heavy) for panels up to about 24".

Hi beeg,
I find using a sled makes controlling the accuracy of a cut on large panels, like kitchen cabinets, a lot easier. Just my 2 cents worth...

I have two. One I made and one SS model I bought off e-bay from Appalachian tools. I would use them if only for the safety factor for cutting smaller parts as well as cutting precise panels.

I use one I made.
Dusty, I really like that zero clearance insert. Did you buy or make it?
