Sears store find if you like brass

Post by reible »

Hi,

We were out by the local mall looking at kitchen stoves and some how the place we parked caused us to walk though the tool department (SOP).

While passing through I noticed that they had a Wood Lathe Center Finder (925372) that was $12.99 listed as $4.97 (60% off). Now it also happens to be solid brass and has a nice heft.

If you need one for your lathe fine but I think mine is going to be a paper weight. If they would have had more I would have got some as Christmas gifts but as it was there was only one.

The picture doesn't do it proud but it will have to do for those of you wonder what I'm babbling on about.

In the picture-I like the tape measure w/a pencil sharpen in it. That looks handy..

Your right the tape measure is excellent. They are by Fastcap and the one pictured is the model that allows you to read the tape from either side. By that I mean the on printed side of the tape the numbers are printed both so you can read them holding the tape in your right hand and extending it to the left or holding it in your left hand and extending it to the right.

I got mine from Woodcraft. I bought one used it for a while and went back and bought about 6 of them. I gave on to each Son in Law and kept the rest for me. I have one in my apron, one in junk drawer in the kitchen for my wife, one in cabinet above my workarea and one in my electrical kit.
I think they are wonderful and the pencil sharpener works unlike many I have tried.
