New owner of old machine
Good moroning all;
Well I have finally become an owner of a shopsmith.
It is an older one Model 10ER No. E-55231
I am still in the process of cleaning it up, was negelcted, and has some surface rust.
Was wondering where I might look for some operation manuels, and the like, so that I can figure out just what I have and what I might need.
Then I will ask for your patience, as I am sure I will have a ton of questions.
Thanks
Terry

Well, good morning. You have come to the right place BUT I don't mean to scare you with the below link. If MickyD ran for mayor of San Diego, based on the below, he would win. Take a deep one, go here, and be amazed. You will enjoy it as most folks have. I've two 10ERs and am considering a third. Incredible machines, all Shopsmiths, and given the SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) and a few bucks you may enjoy more than one. Thanks for coming on board.

Welcome Terri......
If your looking for documentation for your ER, the first place you want to go is to a google mail account that has been set up as ER archive. There is an approval process if you join the forum indicated above and that can take a few days.
Go to www.google.com , click on the Gmail link on the top, and you can sign in to the archive:
user: 10erusers
password: castiron
Once in, you need to make sure the view is set to see ALL MAIL. If you can't find that feature, on the left side, it says:
Compose mail
Inbox
Starred
......
More click on more and select All Mail
From there, you'll see enough ER docs, including owners manual, you keep you busy for a few evenings.
I too am currently working on an ER. You can see the thread by clicking on the link in my signature below.
Hey, make sure you enter your location in you ShopSmith profile so that we know where you are. Member JPG40504 will tell you what will happen if you don't fill the info in by your 5th post!!! (It's ugly!!!)

my 10er
Well thank you all.
Now I will not be able to work with it for quite some time, as you all have provided info overload.
I appreciate all the info, and will be checking back here regularly, once I have read some of this.
I think I need to find a manuel that explains and shows just how to take this monster apart, so that I can check it over.
I thought it would be a little simpilar, but then again it sounds like it is a machine worth taking the time before I run it.
Thanks again.
Terry
