This is a side project going at a leisurely pace.

After dabbling with too much stuff and having a reluctance to ever return unused merchandise, I toyed around with a use for 4 nice ball-bearings I had on hand:

These bearings are rubber-sealed and they support a lot of weight but don't rotate super-easy just with a light mass. So.... I've started building a pretty heavy "car":

I've got enough "momentum" in the project that I think it will work out decently. I have no detailed plans to work from, but I have some reference photos I'm using to get a basic idea. More to come later!

I'm in the group that can''t wait to see more! Recognizing that you are going at a leisurely pace - I'll be patient - but anticipating more.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm thinking you are doing roller skates for at elephant, is that right? With bearings that large it must do some "hot dogging" like skating on one foot?

Those tires in the first picture look like Fred Flintstone tires! :D

Glad to see that they finished off round. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

Methinks 3/4" more likely(wooden dowel/maple dowel/hardwood dowel) . . or  steel(for weight capacity! . . although 3/4" base seems light by comparison).

BTW how much did you "put up"?:D
