Overhead Pin Router

Post by dayzman »

Hello,
I just purchased an old overhead pin router that comes with two incra jigs. I have no idea how to use these jigs, nor exactly what they are called.
Can anyone assist me? Or point me to a manual for them?
I have the manual that came with the pin router, but they only mention the jig in there, that they are available, but not how to use them.

Thank you,
Charles

Assuming that the OPR is the Shopsmith OPR, the Incra Jigs did not come with it.

If you have Incra part numbers or pictures of the Incra Jigs, someone here will be able to help.

You might get some info by browsing the Incra site.

Hi Charles - Back in the '80s, Shopsmith marketed the Incra jig. They gave a price break when you bought two. Rockler and others market an identical jig. Here is a link to the manual on Rockler's site: http://www.rockler.com/tech/RTD10000168AA.pdf

Hope this helps.

If these jigs are the ones that SDSmith has referenced, keep them. They will come in very handy. I use mine frequently as a micro adjustable control for the router fence and occasionally on the rip fence.

The manual that Rob referred you to will tell you how it can be used.

I really like the support that Incra provides with their online product documentation.

Hi again,
Thank you, you are correct on many levels.
Firstly, it is a shopsmith overhead pin router. It is the older kind with the stand alone unit, but it has never been used, according to the original owner.
He must have ordered the incra jigs with the purchase ( I assume).
Unfortunately, the are no serial numbers nor model numbers, or I would have indicated so in my first post.
Second poster, thank you.
That is what I was looking for.
I am not exactly a newbie. I have been shopsmith owner for many years, and to date have owned 5 of them. I currectly own the 510 with a bandsaw, belt sander, jointer, 12 " planer. I have had their jig saw, 12" pro planer, and the scroll saw.
Seems to me there are more accessories in the shop, but can't think at the moment.
This post looks like a newbies, I understand. But I lost my login and username etc. so, I had to re register with new information.
I think I have the information that I needed now for the jig, thank you.
