Fire truck plan for Grandson

Post by cat_couple »

Since revitalizing my interest in woodworking and now being blessed with a Grandson, I am wondering if any of you all know where I can find the plans for the hook and ladder truck that was featured in Hands On and I believe it was in the same issue as the Classic Train. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Eric

Hi Eric,

The train appeared a couple of times in Hands-On, but the fire engine (a neat hook-and-ladder truck) appeared only once that I am aware of, the Nov/Dec 79 Hands-On issue.

The train and the fire engine plans were both reprinted in the book Woodworking Projects I. ISBN 0-937558-12-5. It is long out of print but reasonably priced used copies are often available on-line.

I hope this helps,

It is great having grand kids, isn't it? Gives you an opportunity to make something for them that might one day become an heirloom. I made a Jenny Lind cradle for one of my grandsons and it has been passed along to 3 other grandchildren as needed.

I have a book called Woodworking Projects 1 from SS. It is ISBN 0-87857-615-0 paperback or ISBN 0-87857-618-5 hardback. If you need a copy of the plans I can send you a PDF.

Well, how about that, Shopsmith fans. Yes, Woodworking Projects I and II were published and I have both. I have not used them but I will.

Both the Fire Engine and the Train are in Woodworking Projects I.
