does any one know of a link that better describes the cabinet. I got a photo-copied set of plans with the manual I got but it's not a very good copy, and a few more pics would be nice.

BTW Are you related to Farmer???? Yer last name isn't 'Robinson' is it?:D

I did a member search for "farmer". I didn't see his name. There is a farley and then a fasteddies57.

that is exactly what I needed... I was thinking it would be better use of space to put in drawers than small shelves thanks... I found this post earlier but I wasn't able to view pics till I joined so I joined and couldn't find that post again...lol

iclark, Would you have some dimensions for your upright cabinet? I like your idea because it doesn't take up much floor space. Are the bins that yiu have some type of parts bins? Where was the source that you got them? I would have a perfect spot for storing it when not needed.The under mount Shopsmith cabinet seems like it would put alot of weight on it for moving.

I built the original one with slide shelves covered by a door but when I upgraded to a 510 it no longer fit under the unit. I now use it against the wall and store my SPT's on top.

I found it very useful to have many small shelves where I could organize accessories by putting in 5/8" dowels that hold things securely.

I put doors over the large opening and hang all my saw blades on 5/8" dowels drilled into the door. One issue with doors is the amount of center sag makes opening and closing the doors difficult and I can't put in a center column support because of the large movable shelf.

Even with the jointer stored under the Shopsmith the weight was not an issue, in fact it makes wood turning easier due to lower vibration.
