Jointer Question

The fence on my jointer does not lock into place on the fence mounting bar.

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a dowel pin (506721) in the hollow threaded rod in the quadrant assembly (502651) that pushes against the fence when the sleeve screw (506720) is tightened.

I hope that makes sense.

Try Ref # 46 Dowel Pin # 506721, it pushes against the Fence Mounting Bar to lock it in place. You could probably buy something close enough at Ace Hardware then saw and grind it to length

Thanks Jim. I thought that was how it worked. My old 1956 jointer works great except that I can't lock the fence in place. Now I know why.
