I really like the rockler bench cookies but while sanding a batch of doors I was constantly struggling to position them where needed. I came up with this Idea.

I started with a 24" x 36" piece of 1/2 inch baltic birch. I drilled 3 inch holes for the cookies and added two 5/8 inch dowels to lock into the dog holes in my bench.

Now I can quickly position cookies where needed.

While in the process I made another one covered with a rubber sanding/routing pad for small pieces.

I even made a storage compartment for them under my Chop saw bench.

Gee! You had me drooling there. I thought you were making a tray to hold fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! Drats!

Sorry, I'd have saved you some if I had known. The chocolate chips and milk are "all gone".

At our house we don't need a tray for chocolate chip cookies. In fact the one I ate prior to reading your post was delicious. One more reason I work so hard at keeping the cookie maker happy:D:) Jim

Dusty,
Whatever you do, don't let him near your cookies!
Unless you plan on a cookie free diet.....

Mark,
Clever idea, are there advantages to the cookie/tray combo over the board coated with the anti slip mat?
