Hi,

This a sled of sorts, maybe a bit different then you would expect but it is for small parts and just uses the miter gauge.

The one pictured is brand new today, an update of a older version I use to use.

Nice sled. It looks like it would be great for making the pieces for a segmented bowl or vase. I hope you won't mind if I make one too.

I too hope you don't mind. I've already cut some pieces to make my version. I'm going to enlarge the table just a bit, final dimensions to be determined.

When time permits, could you photograph or explain how you attached to the front of your miter gauge? For the life of me, I don't see anywhere on the front of my Shopsmith Miter Gauge to bolt it on.

Dannos, there are two slots in the face of the miter gage. I don't know for certain, but when ever I attach stuff, I just drop the bolts through the slots, hold the attachment flush to the table, and tighten. It's a much more forgiving system then having bolt holes (requiring more precision in drilling the bolt holes in your attachment).

Just getting back to the forum after a couple weeks away.

Yes the slots in the miter gauge is what is used. Remember to pickup a couple washers and wing nuts for the carriage bolts to make mounting easier.

I see advantages and am going to make one. But, why the extra thick mitre extension?
