On a side note I ended up breaking the quadrant follower piece when I was removing the bearing from that little piece. The little rod/spindle that the bearing presses onto pulled right off of the follower .......ARGHHHHH! I am in the process of locating the part or getting it fixed/remanufactured. The one thing I really couldn't afford to break and i broke it. Oh well that's the way it goes and I will figure it out as i always do. Big thanks go out to Bill Mayo (not related.....
I have located a guy who says he can make the plastic cam for the speed control out of aluminum. I am not sure if I am going to have him to do it or someone else. There is another machine shop locally that I am going to go to today to see if they can make it for me close by the other guy is up in Mass. Going to see if they can also make up some gear rack teeth for the headstock movement on the way tube as well.
