I've been using Evaporust on some of my rusty tools. It has been working fine.
However, the last tool I de-rustified was one of my Irwin Quick-Grip clamp.
The metal parts had a flat black finish on it before the treatment - and is generally stripped off now.
What is the best finish to use now to protect the metal?

Johnson's paste wax!
Black oxide is rust.(an oxide of iron).
