I tried posting this on my rebuild update page but got no replies. I thought If I asked as part of a new thread I might get a better response so please forgive the duplicate post.

I have a question about my base and headrest. I read recently that the base and headrest assembly's were different on the older 1 7/8" base tubes. Something about some cast spacers??? I have those tubes but... I'm not sure I painted the right castings. I have some spares around here and I may have grabbed them by mistake. Can you look at these pictures and tell me if I have the right castings painted???

These are the ones I have painted.

I think they are the right ones but?

Thanks for you help

The pix appear to be the 1 7/8" variety! The 1 3/4" variety have a small projection on the casting surface the tubes press against. This projection is only 1/16" that realigns the smaller tubes to the center to center distance and the center of those holes into which the tubes 'go'. I looked for a pix, but have not found it. I think it may be buried in mickyd'd Greenie rebuild thread.
