First off im new to the site i belong to many more fourms and just bought a 10er . I will be useing my used 10 for lathe alot of the time but i will most definitly try to use all of the attachments that came with it . So im going to start the rebuild this weekend and im concidering a dc motor with a speed controller . I want it to be a nice unit and really dont want to rebuild and not have enough power . what things do you need to look for in a dc motor . (rpms , volts , duty, hp,) i will need it to work off of 110 . so any help will be greatly appreciated http://www.norwegianwoodlures.com

Skip Campbell over at the 10ER Users Yahoo Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Shopsmith10ERusers/) is the man to talk to. He's done a lot of the DC motor conversions and can help you out. The Yahoo Group is also a great group.
