Repairs to "Micro Greenie"

Post by nuhobby »

For some time I've had a small Kunz plane that didn't cut very nice.

I learned a few things from Nick's finger-plane video:

I realized the main thing I needed to do was make the mouth-opening a lot tighter. I figured I'd play with this thing rather than make a whole new plane right away.

Sorry these pictures aren't super-quality, but the wood shavings now are! I closed up the mouth a bit (about 1/16" or 3/32" build-up) with J-B Weld; you can just make out the 'metal' color difference in the first photo. We'll see how it holds up.
