My son in law is from Lexington and his family live there. We visited them a few years ago and enjoyed the area. Very impressed with the bronze horse race!
Query: I have a 510, if looking for a used shaper/drum sander fence, are there differences among them or will any "fit" on the main table?

I hate that Mobile lost the Woodcraft store. It was so nice to be able to get in the car and go get some thing if I needed it. That would now be an 8 hour drive round trip. We are back to catalogs and hope you get what you wanted. As many wood workers and wood turners as there are in the area you would think there would be a store some were near. If any one knows of a place that sells wood working supplies with in a hundred miles of Mobile let me know. We have the big boxes home improvement stores but they are not a work workers store. Oh well. I just got spoiled having a place 10 minutes a way.
Make today a day that lets you smile!

There are two versions. The original(500) clamps to the smaller table at the front and rear. The 505...20) fits the larger table and mounts by screws through two holes in the table. The holes are located between the blade slot and the headstock side.
The older one is longer than the newer version, but the slot and a hole for the mounting screws is not located so as to be used with the 505...20) table. The older version has a casting rib at the location appropriate for the newer screw holes.
The newer one has the screw slots running sideways, thus allowing adjustment towards or away from the headstock(about an inch). The older one has the screw hole at one end, and a long slot at the other end. This only allows adjusting the clamps to the front/rear of the table.
I have not used the 510 version(yet) so I do not really know the reason for the sideways adjustment. The older one can be moved that direction by sliding in in/out along the front/rear of the table.
The old one(ala 1963) has only the infeed fence 'micro-adjustable' whereas the newer one is 'micro-adjustable' on both in and outfeed fences.
i.e. Ya need the newer one to fit the 510.
BTW are you aware of how little time it took the sculptress to carve them(all)?

Your "feels like it started" is subjective. Out here in the PNW, it still feels like winter on some days. Tomorrow is supposed to bring 1" of rain and the rest of the week is looking grim too.JPG40504 wrote:Three weeks til the commencement of 'summer' and it feels like it started two weeks ago!
