'Cheap Mans' Wolverine Grinding Jig knock off

I can't take credit for the concept of this jig but I can take credit for using the cheapest piece of scrap wood anyone could find to make it with. I saw the jig on a you tube video and it was also posted at LumberJocks as the 'Poor Man's Wolverine' version. I can't say I'm poor, but I can say I'm CHEAP.
Functionally, it should do a fine job at sharpening various length chisels. From what I've heard, the One Way Mfg.
Wolverine Jig is the Cadillac. Mine, it's the Hugo.
Standard ShopSmith chisel set up

Longer style chisel (loaner scraper chisel from SDSSmith) no worry Rob....I won't sharpen the scraper with this set up. Only using it to demonstrate it's length

Your "Hugo" looks just a functional as my wolverine. The chisels don't care as long as they get sharp. I could have saved a bunch making my own and probably would had I not purchased one several years ago. Great job of salvaging scrap.

Any clues on what the holding block on page 4 is intented to do?

Page 6 shows how it is used. Also if you go to the web site mentioned in the article the guy has a video of him using the jig.

Came across this DIY jig plan for fingernail gouge. I love being at infancy stage of a new learning curve. I don't even know what a fingernail gouge is yet but I already know I want one!!!!

The block on page 4 is a jig for sharpening a fingernail gouge on the Wolverine knock-off.

There seems to be a big difference in the amount of radial sweep between the two different jigs. No idea what's correct, just an observation. I'll add that to my "gotta know why someday list.....". Thanks.

Guy named Mike Mahoney making the sharpening of the fingernail chisel look pretty easy. Who needs a stinkin' jig anyway!!
