I have a 1980 Mark V Model 500.

For a minor upgrade, can the Table Height Handle (513058) and the Pinion Knob (5042619) be replaced by the Table Height Hand Crank Assy (514330), which is used on the 505 thru 520 models?

I tried briefly to find where this has been discussed before and failed but I'll keep looking.

My recollection is yes, it could be done but not as easily as it may seem and not with total success.

I saw a guy on ebay recently selling a 500 style carriage which featured a custom made table height handle that was made of wood and similar to the 505-520 style one. It looked like it was smaller than the standard 505-520 one. You probably would need to check the dimmensions where the table hits in relation to the handle to see what the maximum radius for a handle would be.
