Vertical routing from above is too dangerous to do the edges of these little cars, as the cars are only 3 1/2" long and 1 1/2 to 2" high. No sense risking fingers!
After lowering the headstock, I mounted my small Sears routing table on the extension table on the axillary spindle side of the mark 510. It was only then that I realized I had not yet sanded the top, and bottom of the cars. Rounding the bandsawn edges would not give a smooth edge.
Didn't want to remove the routing table, so thought I could mound the strip sander on the quill side and use the PowerPro in reverse. It worked just fine and dandy! Yeah for the reverse function!!!!
With bandsawn edges all sanded it was easy to finish the rounding.
