I'm new to this so I have no idea on how to remove this Base Arm Pin or Retaining Ring. HELP PLEASE!

I attached a photo. Not really sure how to make it post on my thread.

I went through the same thing.

1. Remove way tubes. 5/32" set screws inside base arm.
2. Knock out roll pin with pin punch or filed-down nail.
3. Drive out base arm pin with long rod (i.e. rebar, pipe, etc.).

BE SURE TO USE PLENTY OF PENETRATING OIL.

One other thing: just let the roll pin fall into the base arm when you punch it through. It will fall out the bottom of the base arm.

Using the proper size pin-punch is important. If you manage to flare that roll pin while trying to drive it out can be a task terminator. I also recommend using a new pin when you get ready to reassemble.

I managed to get the pin out. I didn't use the correct size, so like you said dusty, it did flare. I do plan on getting new ones once I start to reassemble.

I can't for the life of me get that pin through. it seems bent, as it is not centered. even before my hammering. I used a bunch of penetrating oil..

any tips??

I had the same problem. Finially used tiny drill bits and drilled it out. Then I could not get a new one in, cause I was afraid of breaking the arm. Finially found a nail about the right size, slid it in and bent the end so it would stay. Not very pretty but does the job.
