I'd bet that if you showed up at the factory in Dayton and told someone there you were contemplating buying a Shopsmith but needed to see one in action - you would get a showing.

There is a demo near me on the 3rd-5th...I wonder if I could video record it if I asked politely...hmmm.

I would not just "show up at the door" in Dayton. If you were to call customer service ahead of time they might be able to accomodate you.

they used to have a sales package available that included a DVD, but I don't know if it has been updated yet to include the 520 and the Mark 7.

Another alternative is to have a "demo" by one of our forum members who lives close to you. Let us know your location. This would probably be much better than any sales pitch demo.

I've had shopsmiths since 1975. I live in rush county in. I have a 1957 greenie. I could show someone how really great a shopsmith is. I also have a full shop of stand alone tools but i go to the shopsmith more often than not.

Welcome to the forum John. I see you have been a member for some time but haven't really posted much. Also see that you have been a SS owner for quite a spell. Feel free to contribute your knowledge and experience. I seem to learn new stuff about every time I am on this forum. It is definitely one of the friendliest forums I subscribe to.
