10 er dado
does anyone know why the dado arbor 505506 is only for mark V? why won't it work on my 10er? can it be machined to fit?
I believe that's because the Mark V is what the company makes and they don't want the liability of possible damages stemming from you using it on an 10ER. If you want to take responsibility for doing that, it's up to you. Does it fit the spindle? Yes, both spindles are 5/8" diameter. Is it safe to use? I don't know; your guess is a good as mine.

Well if you are lucky enough to have a 10ER lower saw guard, you would not want to damage it. They are very rare! Absent the guard, the Mark V dado arbor should work. They are a little longer than the dado arbor back in the 10ER days so you need to check clearance with the tie bar. Keep an eye out for a 5/8" universal arbor on FEEbay. They are about 1/4" shorter and about the same as the 10ER dado arbor.elvisbist wrote:Thank You for the answer. another answer I got from shopsmith is that it "might" interfear with the lower blade guard. I guess I'll take a chance and buy one. I don't mind making small alterations on a tool if it makes it work.
