On Sale retractable casters

Post by wannabewoodworker »

I picked these up from Woodcraft on sale for $34.95 and they arrived today. They are super nice casters and to get all four of them for that price with mounting hardware I thought was a bang up deal. I am going to use them on my power station with the bandsaw. The only thing that might not be perfect is the wheels are the round ball type and are a hard plastic material which may not play well with my concrete garage floor but for the price I figure what the heck I will give them a shot. If they don't work on the power station I am going to use them on the new to me Delta table saw which has a mobile base now but it is far too big to be of any real use plus the wheel locks stick way out when the wheels are down and catch on everything.

Looks like a good deal for some applications. If the casters have posts that are "bolt on" perhaps they could be replaced with larger (if needed) rubber wheels if the plastic ones fail to work properly as mentioned in the reviews at the link you provided.
Mixed feelings is watching your mother in law driving off a cliff in your new Rolls Royce. :) :(

I did not think to read the reviews DUH! Just went and read some of them and they were pretty on target. The rollers are not the best in the world but the casters perform as designed and on my bandsaw they work great for now. I may change them around and put them on the inside of the legs instead of the outside as they won't stick out like they do now but i am happy with them as i had nothing before getting them.
