I vaguely recall seeing a thread from someone a while back saying there was a mail order place you could send off to in Florida?? I don't recall.. Perhaps someone else will remember..

There are many places to get your blades sharpened but I send mine here. These folks are tried and proven.

I use Scotts Sharpening Service
5214 W Luke Ave Ste 7 Glendale, AZ 85301
(623) 931-0633

A little ways from Quartzite, though. He does a great job on saw blades and jointer/planer blades, too.

I have a sharpening shop about a mile from my house. Doesn't everybody? Try looking in your yellow pages.

I realize you are looking for a sharpening service but if your in a bind, such as budgetary constraints or time (or just plain cheap), it is possible to sharpen a blade yourself.

I sharpened an original 9" SS combination blade that was completely rusted over and it cuts smoothly now, although I'm sure it would fair better if done professionally. I used a rotary tool (Dremel) with an abrasive wheel that was large enough in diameter (+/- 5/4") to get into the gullets without changing the angle of the hook.

However, this method doesn't take into consideration setting of the teeth. If they are misaligned (bent) I'm sure you'll get a sharp rasp, as opposed to a blade. Also, this method took me about two hours to complete and I had to hold my tongue just right.

How well does it cut? Some tear out on this cross cut red oak scrap.
