Post by cmccarter1 »

I use the PSI 1 x 8 adapter for my Mk5 and have been having problems with it loosing while in use. Anyone else had this issue? The chuck is a PSI 3000c

I have a Barracuda, but have never had a problem with is loosening. Are you referring to the set screw on the quill or the threaded spindle adapter?

If the set screw looks okay, I would put some blue loctite on the threads.

Adapter Loosening

It is the setscrew that appears to work loose after using it for a while. I'll try some loctite

No! I just happen to know better! Gained that knowledge right here!!!! I did not know there was any but the red before.

I have noticed many 'loctite' products since. Glue anybody?:D

FWIW, if the package seems light, check the 'tube' for proper contents prior to leaving the 'store'. That comes from 'experience'. I do not like getting home only to discover somebody/thing failed to fill the container!
