A question on the SS#

Post by jayp413 »

Hello everyone. I was given a Mark 5 and bought a Mark V11. I have been trying to find the age through the SS# charts, but have been unable to find my SS#'s. The Mark V SS# is 43609. The closest I could find was 1979, but the number is 40369. Not an exact match.
The Mark V11 I only see 1960 with no other information. Was this a one year build?
Thanks for any info!

You are correct on the Mark V, built in September, 1979.

The Mark VII was announced in late 1962. Serial number ranges unknown.

The Mark VII owners manual copy I have has a copyright of 1963 and the parts manual has a copyright of 1965.

So safe to say within those couple of years. I'm not even sure how long they were made or how many were produced. It really is too bad considering the base advantages.
