On my friend's older mark V, the motor fan sheave is just starting to rub on the housing. We pulled it apart, and the old "thin-style" spacer was badly deformed. He contacted SS and was told that their new thicker/beefier 5/8" bore fan sheave spacer (P/N 504205, #124) was on back order. I volunteered to make him a new one. Has anyone fabricated one easily? I really need to know the following:
1. Length of spacer (my best guess is that it is around 7/16" or perhaps a little less)?
2. Thickness of the wall on the factory SS spacer?
If someone could mic a spare one they have, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I noticed on my own 1957 model Mark V that there is an access hole for the fan sheave set screw - cut into the bottom of the motor pan by the motor's exhaust vent slot. Perhaps I missed this in my SS maintenance guidelines, but I am adding the following to my own "every 10 hours" of operation checklist: Check that this allen screw is tight!

I do not have one out presently, but the length is equal to the distance from the center race of the bearing to 1/8" beyond the outer face of the end casting. The fan sheave hub clears the outer face of the end casting by 1/8". The 'thicker' the better. 1/16" is more than the oem. ID is 0.625(+).

This set screw and the one in the Drive Sleeve are the ones I find loose.
