I have "acquired" one of the "new" clear plastic style table saw guards for the 500, but it doesn't have the mounting instructions. Does anyone have the instructions to show me how to mount it?

There is a decent exploded view here...
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/part ... xpview.htm ,
and a nicer-yet finished view here:

Part no. 188 Mounting Block is the main thing to attach to the table's tie-bar. I think the cap-screws no. 190 are 1/4-20 thread, so you need the corresponding tap and a no. 7 drill bit. If you look closely at the diagrams and play around with the Mounting Block, you'll see they fit together in one particular way, which you can use to center-punch the screw hole start locations.
Good luck!

I think I understand but If anyone that has one could take a picture of the mounting area for visual reference I'd really appreciate it.

I'd like to help, but the one I worked on is now with a new owner in my family (and he's not a e-photo type of guy). You may want to see if you can hail John McCrossen or others on this forum.
