Wood mag issue 208 Nov 2011 Did and article on ZigZag rocker.
In it they build a rocker that has a z frame. The bottom of the z is the rocker, the diagonal is leg and top of the z is the arm.
What is fascinating is joint, There is tremendous pressure on the bottom joint where the rocker meets the diagonal.
Check it out looks like a really interesting project but I not sure I can build the joint to be strong enough.

According to the plans the joints are re-inforced with a floating tenon and two splines. I watched the online video they produced to show it's strength. It seems like an interesting project. Here is the lnk to the video.
