Our latest spammer has been here for 6 minutes. Gotta do better than that.

Surely this spammer can be banned. I come to this forum for information, education and camaraderie. I have always found it a welcome reprieve from the undesirable aspects of the internet. Apparently knuckleheads like this do not understand what this forum means to its members.

Just my two cents.

......and it just occurred to me that I have never posted. Yikes! Rest assured I am a legit woodworker and have spent hours perusing this forum.

They do get in and we do try to keep 'Admin' informed so as to allow their extermination and reentry denial.

You will notice those posts are now gone!

As a temporary measure(late/AM hours etc.) you can mark them for ignoring. Just click on the 'id' and then click on ignore(twice).

What exactly are the spammers trying or attempting to do?
What is it that marks them as a spammer here on a forum?
I guess since they get nailed by a certain member every time, I never see them so I cannot tell what identifies them as a spammer.
Just curious.

Normally it has been a single poster who posts a half dozen or so links to advertisements that have absolutely nothing to do with woodworking. That is what catches my attention. They are either trying to sell you something or trying to get you to log into their site for some reason.

That coupled with the fact that it is usually this posters first post.

I catch quite a few because I am up early every morning and I login as part of my wake up routine. My first computer check each day is accompanied by my first cup of coffee before anyone else is up.
