Removing Installing Quill spring

Could someone please advise me the proper way to remove and re-install a quill spring for My SS Mk 5. Would appreciate it very much. Thanks

First a question: Why do you want to remove it? It is quite uncooperative in that endeavor.

I assume you are referring to the removal of the spring from the quill shaft, NOT removing the shaft etc. from the headstock or retensioning it.
