Figuring out Headstock Year
My serial number is 50102. Can anyone help me figure out what year it is?
seems to be late 1979 per this table:
http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/serialnumber.htm
I found the table by going to Search above and asking about "serial number".
I find the Search to be a really useful tool.

Take a look here. Spend some time browsing. There is a wealth of info in this section. The chart here leads me to agree December 1979 is your birth date.

Gotta say Jan 1980 and it definitely is a 'B' headstock with gray paint and a 'old style' toggle switch.
The 'C' headstock was created in 1991 to include the newer safety switch and the sn were converted to a date code years earlier.
If it is green, we gotta go back and start over!
