Picket Carolers

My latest project is an outdoor Christmas display, somewhat in keeping with Bill Mayo's, recent post. It was made for a craft show I am participating in this coming weekend. I'm not sure it will sell as the cost of making it at $52 means I will have to ask about $65-$75 and most people don't want to spend that much at this level of show.

However my dear wife will be pleased if it dosen't sell as she wants it for our own outdoor display. If I am lucky and it sells, you know I will be rushing to complete another one for "you know who".:D

I have tried to attach a picture of it but when I rotate it, I get a message saying it is dosen't fit the requirements. So, I apologize for the attached picture. If any one has suggestions to help on this problem, I would appreciate them

I did not equip with Shopsmiths in spite of the setups but because of them.

VERY NICE! I live in little podunk town PA. Alot of people still want that hand/home made and are willing to pay for it. Around here you would sell that in the first 10 min of the show at that price.

The size cannot exceed 800 x 600. Your picture when rotated was 450x650. Simply resize to 450 x 600.

Very nice piece for the $75.00 or so that you need for it. I tried some craft shows a few years ago and only got pi$$ed at what people wanted to pay for my hard work.:mad:

Or use 'Irfanview' a freebie and respecify a 600 height. The width can be held to the same ratio. Also color correction can be done.

Thanks for the help and the compliments.

The idea is not really mine, it is a Meisel pattern. I am not very creative so I usually work from plans though I do make some alterations. The painter in this case is me. Usually the dear wife like to do the painting but she is out of town so I got to complete the project. It dosen't show well in the picture, but there is a light behind the lantern which I presume would show nicely at night.

Mark:

I know what you mean about value for the work. I figure I'm getting less than $2/hour for my effort, not counting the time it takes to purchase materials.

My first shows were kind of frustrating because of that but I am now more relaxed as I enjoy the interaction with the customers, even those that are "just looking".

I usually just upload over-sized pictures to Picasa then save them back to my computer and they work. Saves trying to remember what I need to do. :)
