Safety miter on 10er

Post by chipmaster »

I see these safety miters for sale for the Mark V--Will they fit the 10ER? Can I swap parts and make them fit? Are they as cool to work with as they look in the demos?

Once upon a time, Shopsmith sold a miter bar that would fit the 10ER table and would accept the Mark V's miter gauge and safety grip. The safety grip will not fit on the standard 10ER miter bar. Not without some modification anyway.

Rick, Skip, the owner of the Yahoo ER group makes the miter bar, just like SS used to sell, so you can use the MkV/5 safety miter on your ER.

In fact, you should probably join that group.

Thanks Steve--I'm in that group also. I don't use it as well as I should. This forum format is what I'm most familiar with, but I will try to modify my habits.
