homedepot discount
there is an old thread on this but, will start a new one to be more current.
went to the depot today with some gift cards. purchased a new drill.
i asked about the veterans discount. they have a piece of paper taped right on the counter that they scanned.. ten percent off right now. had to show ID card. or they will accept copy of discharge papers.
i thought this only applied on veterans day but, they said it is anytime.
paid the sales tax and a little more.......savings was $12.90.........

To qualify for the Everyday 10% Military Discount, you must:
Be currently serving in, or retired from, a qualifying branch of the Armed Services, or be the immediate family member of someone who is and have a valid military ID Card.
Or:
Be a veteran who receives VA benefits and have a valid Veteran Identification Card (VIC).
I guess 'retirees' have id cards.

For Active Duty or Retired (not sure about Vets with a VA card, though), HD will allow you to register in a special status in their Pro Rewards program. After registering you simply type in your registered phone number on the keypad at the checkout (look for the Pro Rewards button on the keypad screen).
As JPG states above Lowes gives an everyday Active Duty and Retired military discount; now HD has matched them.
10% adds up quite a bit when you're shopping there at least once a month for things.
Yes, military retirees and family have ID cards.

Maybe my local Lowes is lax on the official corporate policy since they are located 15 min down the road from MCB Quantico and 5 min from the back gate to TBS. I don't ask for the discount everytime I go in, but for large purchases I do, and they have never balked at it.

I used a gift card in conjunction with the 10% military discount today at Lowes. No questions asked. Military ID (retired) was all I needed. Next time I'll try to add on the Senior's Discount.

Nice that your Lowe's does. Not in Pensacola to those with a VA card, but may happen to military retirees. I'm not, did my 2 years in Nam and another 2 years on land before tricky Dick allowed me out 3 months early with his military draw down (Reduction In Force). Even the VA wants to charge me for an annual visit. Last year, my insurance Explanation Of Benefits (EOB) stated that I owed $25 for the doctor visit to the VA, plus another $453 for lab tests. So far, VA has not sent a bill, but they can if they wish. I'll be a while paying it. So nice of them to take care of us. Oh, I don't have a service connected injury or disability.
