SS tailstock live center question

I have a project in the planning stages that I want to use the shopsmith tailstock live center for. The application will require the removal of the #2 morse taper portion and using the mounting hole in the bearing to bolt it in place.
I have only one of these and I'd like to not have to share it with the new fixture so I checked to see how much one of these goes for now,

Add the shipping and that is a lot more then I want to pay.
Next option is to shop the open market for one of these.
So here is the question, are all shopsmith versions made with the removal-able taper portion? Anyone know of another brand that has the same size feature? I'm thinking of a price point at about $20.

I've got their
#2 Morse Taper Pro Live Center Set that I picked up a couple of years ago for a LOT less than today's published price. I've been very happy with the set.

The two I have from woodcraft, the head spins on the shaft. So it's knot what ya want from there.

Reible,
I just went into the shop and YES the morse taper does unscrew from the bearing cup. The bearing can also be replaced.

A bit more info. I think that I have the early version with no "C" clip retaining the bearing. If you have one with the clip inside the cup then I don't know if the taper is removable

Thanks for some input.
I found one on the bay so I've bid on it. In a couple of days I'll see if my "value" is anything like the going rate.
Good news is I have a couple of months before I will be ready for the project and I'll have time to see how the bidding on these goes. None of the other 4 shopsmiths I've acquired came with one which is too bad, it would have been handy to have an extra.

Which one are you looking for? I have a couple of them. Just recently took one of them apart and pressed the sharp pointy end out of the cup so that I could re-sharpen it as i had somehow ground it down on one side doing something that was probably not supported.........
I would be happy to send you one for your project if i have the right one as I do very little lathe work and if i do need to do some I have several centers to use. Feel free to PM so as not to clutter the forum with personal discussion.

Hi,
The live center that I have from shopsmith comes apart as shown below. The thread is 1/2-20.
So far this is the only one that I know about. My plan calls for using the center without the MT2 portion, instead using a bolt and threading the forward portion on to the bolt.
